The Bracklinn Fell Pony Stud is a family run stud located in central Scotland. Our aim from the start has been to breed traditional fell ponies paying particular attention to hardiness and temperament. Away from the Cumbrian Fells, it is impossible to replicate the environment that made these ponies what they are today, but we do all we can to run our ponies as near to that “idyll” as possible. The mares are run on rough hill ground from September until April with little, if any, supplementary feeding in order to maintain the natural hardiness that is essential in the female stock. The stud usually consists of around 8-10 brood mares, youngstock and our stallion.
